I agree with JimmyJump's review, except I do not think I the prologue is needed, but the story does seem like it can continue for a little more. It is a great start, not polish it up, please! :) (6/10)

I'm not too keen on stories where the narrator talks directly to "me". Especially when that narrator has nasty things on his mind.
While the narrative should be a personal thing between punisher and punished, I felt "The Ripening" was too distant, too impersonal.
Well written, yes, but lacking in depth and feel.
Was nice as an essay, but falls short as a story, since it isn't a story at all, just a showcase of what a guy has in store for his sub. The "real" story is what isn't spoken about here, what came before and what comes next. The relationship.
Still, the author has promise, so I'll keep an eye out for further developments.
