I was entertained and would have loved for it to continue. Definitely above average writing. (8/10)

This is a brief and simple slice-of-life story where the character of the "son" is sketched with some care; the author does not let the words get in the way.... with some editing and polishing, this could be the opening chapter in a very interesting series. (7/10)
